
A Russian bomb hit the Drama Theater in Mariupol on Wednesday. This theater provided shelter for hundreds of civilians. Ukraine’s foreign ministry said that many civilians were trapped from the bombing and the number of casualties is not yet known. Earlier on the same day, Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke virtually to United States lawmakers again asking for a no-fly zone over Ukraine and for additional support. Following Zelensky’s message to Congress president Biden announced that the United States will provide Ukraine with an additional $800 million in financial assistance. The total amount of United States financial assistance has now reached $1 billion total. Joe Biden also provided details about the specific equipment that the US plans to provide to Ukraine.
